A 39 year old daughter from the first, a 14 year old son from the second. I manage software development teams for a living and own several small businesses 8/20/25, 2:22 PM - Sandy: I'm a combat medic in the Army, stationed at Tinker Air Force Base. I've served in the US Army for the past 18 years, which has been an incredibly fulfilling journey. My work is demanding and involves a lot of field operations, base duties, and emergency readiness, but I find it incredibly rewarding. I have a wonderful 9-year-old daughter who means the world to me. She's a bright, energetic kid who loves reading and playing soccer. Balancing my career and being a mom is challenging, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better and seeing where things go. 8/20/25, 2:26 PM - Wes Lathan: Wow, amazing. I was in the Air Force in the 80's 8/20/25, 2:28 PM - Sandy: That’s great 8/20/25, 2:28 PM - Sandy: I'm curious, what type of woman are you looking to settle down with? 8/20/25, 2:29 PM - Wes Lathan: Well, not in a hurry to settle down. Really just want to get to know someone. See if there's an energy that draws us together. It's hard to describe that person, it's really how there qualities add up to create a good match for me 8/20/25, 2:43 PM - Sandy: Honestly, I've been thinking a lot about what I want in a partner. Given my demanding job as a combat medic, I need someone understanding and patient. Kindness is huge for me - someone who genuinely cares and puts others first. Family is a big deal, so it's essential they value that too and could be a positive influence in my daughter's life. Life can get tough, but with the right person, it's easier. A good sense of humor helps get through the hard times. For me, open and honest communication is key. I want someone willing to share thoughts and feelings and value my perspective. Ultimately, I'm looking for a partner to build a life with - someone who'll be my rock, best friend, and confidant. Together, we can create a loving, supportive relationship based on mutual respect. 8/20/25, 2:44 PM - Wes Lathan: Well said 8/20/25, 2:45 PM - Sandy: Could you share a bit about your past relationships and what you've been through? 8/20/25, 2:49 PM - Wes Lathan: I was very young for my first marriage. Didn't realize she had mental issues. Spent 16 year single. Met my second wife on Match.com. We went well for 10 years until she went through menopause. She lost all desire in that change and really just wanted to be friends. Our son is autistic so we remain friends and work closely together for him 8/20/25, 2:49 PM - Wes Lathan: Had a few girlfriends, in between, but nothing that left an impression 8/20/25, 2:53 PM - Sandy: My daughter's dad struggled with alcoholism, which created a lot of issues. It got to a point where I had to make the tough decision to divorce him and get a restraining order to protect my daughter and myself. I know it's important for my daughter to have a relationship with her dad, but I also need to ensure her safety. So, the restraining order will stay in place until he becomes sober. It's been a challenging journey, but I'm focused on what's best for my daughter. 8/20/25, 2:55 PM - Sandy: I'd love to learn more about you. That must be a story 8/20/25, 3:12 PM - Sandy: I'm attached to the 72nd Medical Group here at Tinker. 8/20/25, 3:14 PM - Wes Lathan: Why do they need a combat medic for that? the 72nd is a primary care and readiness unit. Not forward operations. The base is a logistics station 8/20/25, 3:16 PM - Wes Lathan: When you guys use military members for these, it really pisses me off.
